Hi All,

I had been led to believe that Billy was hanging up his driving gloves but having met him last week, I'm delighted to learn that he has purchased a new van and is raring to go (again). We've used Billy a couple of times in the past and are moving out to Calabria for good next year, so we're delighted we can entrust our 'worldlies' to Billy.

He asked me to give him a plug and it's the least I can do - he's 100% as many on this forum will testify. :D

I can speak highly of Billy. He moved our stuff to Botricello last year, where we now live permanently.

How he got everything that we wanted taken into his van was amazing.

A lovely man into the bargain.

Good Luck with your move, Bear and Cub.

Yes all went well and we are now living La Dolce Vita.

I go back to Scotland every 6 weeks or so to see family and friends. Mainly to see my Mum who wont travel... she is 86 and likes her own bed at home.

Many family members have come over here to stay for 10 days or so and always return for another holiday. They love the "rustic" scenery and way of life here. No one speaks English so my Italian has progressed from basic to intermediary.

We sold our house and car in Scotland and now have a beautiful home here with pool and orta and many terraces to keep out the sun or bathe in it. Just had a wood store built for the colder weather which we'll use to store wood for our wood burning stove and radiators, this will save on using the air con to heat the house in the winter.

Beautiful weather here in October, still in shorts and t shirts and walking to the beach to stroll along the lungomare.

We have been so, so lucky buying here.

Just feel so much for those who have lost a lot of money etc It could have been us.

glad you are sorted, we must meet up when we are next over, the people who have lost money, well it could be worse, heard today some people have had to sell their house in the uk to pay fines or go to prison. unfortunately the permits were wrong and they had used the sol suggested by vendors who was a lorry driver!!!

For us an Orta is our veg. garden. Basil still as high as a hedge, flat leaf parsley in front. This year we have grown our own tomatoes, onions, lettuce, peppers and chillis, aubergines, courgettes and from our neighbours we have had figs, pomegranates and now lemons.

Newly planted are more veg.

Lovely flower garden some things a hit and a miss. Luckily our neighbour waters for us when we go back home.

Yes, Iona will meet up when you are back over.

Meanwhile today was hot and sunny as has been all October. Only drawback is that it gets dark around 5pm but still warm enough to eat outdoors later.
