For those wishing to set up Sky services in Calabria I have a reconditioned Pace2600 box, complete with new controller for sale. These are acclaimed as the best ever box produced for southern locations

We currently use one in our villa and can confirm that they work. All that is required is to purchase a Sky freeview card £20. Full details can be provided on registering/setting up the box.

Price £50 plus postage. Please send pm for further information

I have a spare one too. I must say that since my new TV has the iPlayer built-in I don't watch live TV at all anymore.

That is interesting about the iPlayer incorporated in the TV, but do you have to have a broadband connection to make it work?

Yes, I have a very old Mac Mini (but any old pc will do, mac mini is small and silent) that picks up the wireless broadband, builds up a VPN to the UK (vpngates.com) and shares it to the TV via a regular network cable. The Samsung series 6 TV's have got an App Store and dependent on which nation your are in (or pretend with a VPN) will install a bunch of online TV apps. For the UK that is BBC iPlayer, YouTube and some online movie rental services. I read somewhere that 4OD is on the way as well. It is really funny that is has taken to 2011 for it to be easy to watch online TV .... on your TV! Quality is great - on a par or better than Digital Terrestrial.
