Hi maguires

If you look at my website La Dolce Vita di Pizzo, you will find lots of accommodation available in Pizzo on the West Coast. There are self-catering apartments, B&Bs and hotels.

Good luck
Anna

PS If you decide on Pizzo, and have any questions, you can always contact me and I will be glad to help.

Hello again Maguires

I was in Pizzo in April last year, and we took jackets, T-shirts and swimming costumes. Some days were deliciously warm and sunny, and some were cooler and cloudy. Definitely need a jacket in the evening, as it gets colder at night. In the apartment we needed a heater first thing in the morning and at night, and a good thick cover on the bed.

Having said that, most days we were able to sunbathe on the beach, and braver souls can even swim. We were the ONLY people using the main Marina beach at Pizzo. The locals would never even consider going to the beach at this time of year no matter how hot it was, so there will only be other 'crazy' foreigners on the beaches!

I can only speak for Pizzo, but to avoid a 'ghost town' or 'ghost complex' you would need to be in Pizzo itself, either in the Old Town or down at the Marina. There are apartments on the beach with a pool at Marinella (3kms outside Pizzo), but it would be mainly deserted at this time of year.

Hope this helps
Anna

Hi Maguires
Have also sent you a pm. In our complex at Sabbia the pool opens on 1st May so won't fit in with your dates however would be very cool for swimming - needs some sunny days to warm it through. Weve been out at all times of the year and we have been taking in the sun on 31st December so who knows! It is quiet at this time of year and probably if you want some life Pizzo would suit your needs better but we always enjoy it out of season and take the opportunity to travel around and see the amazing area.
Hope you get sorted

Linda

Hi Maguires,
I believe that Delta Club would be quiet at this time of the year and no pool as it's only open from June to end of September so would not be suitable for you.
If you want a place with a bit moree buzz you won't be able to beat Tropea and i's surrounding area. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Calabria.
Have a look at Dennis's ad "Sea view apartment in central Tropea in "Active topics" The apartment is very close to Piazza Cannone a brilliant location in Tropea..
