Why all this building up- just to be so very let down again with Ryan air-As usual!! Doesn't this all just make us hate them even more!!! But tied to them because of the low prices on fares! Very disapointed after very exciting reports.
But will remain ever hopefull!!!

Next week there will be an announcement by the Airport Authority of Lamezia Terme about the international Ryanair flights.

The contracts are currently being negotiated so no further information is available.

Hoping this helps,

Dennis.

Dare I say it sounds promising!!! or is that wishful thinking. At least they are discussing contracts but whether it involves Stansted to Lamezia is another matter. Fingers crossed!!
Thanks Dennis

One would think that contract negociations would be completed before releasing flights and accepting bookings??

It does involve London-Lamezia.

Sorry for being a bit light on details earlier today, but I am having a busy day! My contact at Sacal is part of the contracting team actually talking to Ryanair and could not (and did not want to) release any specifics at this point but was confident about the flights. A press release is scheduled for next week and the content of it depends on these negotiations.

Quite right, Bergaking.
It is unbelievable that Ryanair would take bookings and our money when they have not yet had a contract with Lamezia to fly into that airport.
Hopefully our flights and yours will go ahead on the 6th July, if not I will take this further.
Apart from screaming, swearing and shouting I will go after them and... as the saying goes, a woman scorned! well I will feel that I have been sh...... by Ryanair

Looking on the Ryanair website under "Book cheap flights" I notice even the flights which were half showing up to the 12th April have now all been removed does this mean even when they do get released flights will start from the 13th April ??

Dear All,

Just Happened to notice the following:

From Lamezia to Brussels (Charleroi) 14 Apr 11
Düsseldorf (Weeze) 28 Mar 11
Girona (Barcelona) 13 Apr 11
London-Stansted 13 Apr 11
Stockholm Skavsta 14 Apr 11
Trapani 13 Apr 11

See the link and scroll down for yourself.

http://www.ryanair.com/en/new-routes

Not sure why no London Stansted link is showing...

Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the London Stansted is officially launched sooner rather than later?!

Regards,

Mickey 'O'

Yes... I see that when i copied the text it appeared to be 'invisible', yet when i pasted it it then mysteriously shows London Stansted.

Bottom line is that flights are now officially available so everyone can now start booking.

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

Well, overall great news.....however, I note that anyone who booked originally is likely paying more for the same flights, but relieved nonetheless...and for those who booked for March departures not sure what the story is.....

The Timetable shows flights running from on the following Fixed Dates and Times as i type at 20.45hrs on Friday 4th February 2011:

Wednesday 13th April 2011 to Friday 28th October 2011

From Stansted:

Sunday Departs 11:55 to Arrive 15:55
Monday Departs 16:45 to Arrive 20:45
Wednesday Departs 11:15 to Arrive 15:15
Friday Departs 17:10 to Arrive 21:10

From Lamezia:

Sunday Departs 16:20 to Arrive 18:20
Monday Departs 21:10 to Arrive 23:10
Wednesday Departs 15:40 to Arrive 17:40
Friday Departs 21:35 to Arrive 23:35

Hugely improved times from the previous 6.00am killer flights.

You pay's your money and takes's your choice.

Regards,

Mickey 'O'

I predict:
A. Michael O'Leary will offer all cancelled March bookers a free return flight.

Or....
B. First March departure will be deemed the inaugural flight, with celebrities, politicians and Tourism officials being offered a free day trip to Calabria with champagne and peanuts.

Never did want to rub shoulders with Air Miles Andy...

All those politicians travelling to their 2nd claimed homes?

No, just happy the flights are back...sure the March flights will be resolved, with alternate flights or refunds...

This is my first posting on this site. I refurbished a property in Badolato in 2008 with the intention of spending long weekends there. Thanks to Ryan Air my long weekends away were dashed along with the idea of renting out my property.
I have been so excited by your postings of late re Ryan starting up the routes to Lamezia again and slightly on edge that my hopes would be dashed. However, as you may have discoverd by now if you go on the Ryan Air website lamezia to Stanstead is now there under the 'New Routes for 2011' section........Im still slightly on edge but fingers crossed it is a move in the right directiion!

Have looked at flights at very good rates and NO TAX then hesitated on 2 occasions and when returning to book - tax has been added? so my advice is if you see a good deal _ especially without tax ( which can amount to as much as flight) GET IT BOOKED! it wil not last long so dont delay!!!

Hi
Have just been on Ryanair website and see that Paris to Lamezia flights start in May. The return times are great for us up in Scotland. Flight leaves Lamezia at 3p.m. and then flight to Glasgow gets in just before midnight.

Never thought of Paris, would make a change from Stanstead.
Thanks Margaret... off to check it out for October as we have already booked for July.

Hi margaret,
Are you looking at a different route going out? I can't seem to get Glasgow/Paris/Lamezia all in one day.

Cheers, Pooch

Just a note about the Paris Lamezia route. The airport is in a place called Beauvais which is between Rouen and Paris so its not a quick terminal change. Its like calling Luton a London airport.

Gareth, belfast to stansted to lamezia is probably as good as any. Last year I did belfast to rome to lamezia and sometime I might try dublin to naples then train to Pizzo.

That's good they're still flying in the winter. However the 11.15 flight from S to L was ideal as we could get an early morning (6am) flight from Belfast but the new 07.50 is not good as it would involve an overnight stay in London. Same for Scotland or N England I presume.

Booked our flights yesterdy, 12-26 October. We're flying Easyjet Glasgow to Stansted, then Ryanair Stansted to Lamezia. Total cost for 2 just over £230, and no overnight stay to add on. Pretty good deal for us Scots!

Does anyone know when the 2012 London - Lamezia flights are released???

This is assuming Ryanair continue to operate the route, I can't see why they wouldn't.
