Anyone know, can you receive english language tv channels on the East coast, and if so, which satellite.
Thanks

Hi Beauyash, how does that work? Can you explain a bit for us not so tech-savvy?

You have your tv linked to your laptop either through an HDMI cable, or Chromecast or Apple firestick. You need internet and on your laptop go onto catch up tv and stream the channel you want and it goes onto your tv screen.

Am interested in prepaid WiFi. Anyone out there got a good deal ?
Alternatively has anyone got prepaid data on an Italian phone [or sim card], and approximate costs.
Thanks

We have place in Stignano Mare and pay 15 euros a month for unlimited WiFi.

You only pay when you're there, i.e. on arrival we go the shop and pay and its switched on immediately.

For TV we use a Slingbox where we go through our computer connected to the telly and get our UK SKY home package.

Hi bobby,
Who is your wifi provider for the service you described? I wonder if they are on the west coast?

We use REAT who have a shop in Stignano on the Eastern side and have Netflix for films Etc and Catch up TV for other British tv programmes. We pay €18 a month for a higher amount of WiFi but only pay for the month we are there.

Hi beauyash,
Who or what is REAT, can you please supply me with more information. €18 a month for when wifi is required is half the cost I am paying for my wifi. I am presently paying €34/mth for the whole year!

REAT is the name of the co/shop in Stignano Marina on the Ionia coast who provide WiFi through a wireless system, transmitted from a pylon and a transmitter on our complex roof and then to a router in our apartment. We paid for the router to be fitted then you either pay €15, €18 or a higher priced package. But you only pay monthly for when you need it. We have their email address and let them know when we will be out and go and pay the day after we arrive but have the internet available for when we arrive. No idea if you can get this on your side.

Hi beauyash,
Thank you for your reply.
It appears that it may be the same system i have with the parent company being Wical.
With this system someone can set up a satellite station and charge other persons in the locality to connect up to it for a fee.
I'll have to check with my provider Wical about stopping the wifi for the time it isn't required mainly November to April. When I checked this some years ago when I first installed my system it seemed a bit of a hassle to do this but the savings may be worth it.

Received this today re internet and UK TV via satellite which I have posted before. Check out the url below. Looks interesting but it's a shame I have paid out for my current wicsl system.
Waiting to hear from them re switching off wifi in winter.
