We're almost ready to complete on our Bergamotto appartment (block C) and are just thinking (budgeting and organising) about furnishing it.

Has anyone got internal photos of ideally kitchen (with info on suppliers and cost), plus things like sofas, beds and bedroom furniture. Especially interested in the bedroom furniture as we're not sure how much/what storage space (wardrobe, drawers etc) will fit. Ideally in the second bedroom we are thinking of putting in bunk bed (as we've got two children) but not sure how much space this will leave for drawers and whether a cupboard or wardrobe would fit.

Thank you.
Chrissie :)

Chrissie, we have just bought both kitchen and bedroom furniture. A lot of people have spent circa E3500 on their kitchen but like all things there is what you would like and what you want to spend. We have elected for a dog leg kitchen which cost more. Regarding bedroom furniture the same thing applies - what can I afford. There is a whole range of quality and associated cost. What was very helpful for us was the help provided by John Hale and a local chap called Enzo. John owns a kitchen design and installation business in the UK and has taken his CAD software down to Calabria. This means you can design a kitchen and see it in a 3D form before venturing out to buy. If you are clear about what you want and approximately what you have to spend it makes the search much easier. Trying to look by yourselves is very difficult and using Enzo as a translator was very beneficial. John and Enzo spent nearly the whole week we were there with us; they did not charge for their time but we did buy some meals and the odd coffee. A budget figure, how long is a piece of string? John does have a outline budget list. Good luck.
Happy to answer other questions.

Aided by John Hales computer aided design software we were able to design and agree not only our kitchen but also the built in furniture for our second bedroom in Block C. We were therefore able to visit retail outlets with a picture of what we were trying to achieve, this made the selection and costing of the kitchen much easier.

Hi All,
Thanks for your emails and PM's
Iloveitaly If you buy a small spray can of car paint
Make a stencil use something behind to catch excess
Paint, IE. cardboard, you then have a personalised motif
on your nets,

But for new ones try our vertical white stripe Mosquito nets,
We now have some of our clients on Bergamotto with them, and you can come and see them,
Plus we can show you other budget quality ones, so you can compare, " A bit like try before you buy "
That goes the same with all our furniture and fittings
You can see it in the apartments, to discover how best to utilise the rooms,
All the best from a very warm pleasent Bergamotto,
John & Sue

Thanks for that advise i will pass this info to hubby because it is not my forte, but my mossy nets are brand new and fitted between the patio glass door and shutters and when pulled over slap shut to the other side, so will this work for them, the nets already fitted .

An update on my original posting.... we now have a kitchen pretty much installed....it looks fab from the photos - not yet been to visit it... but will be going out in August. We have been helped immensely by a certain chap called John Hale and his colleague Enzo (some of you may have heard of them!!)....

We have been sorting out kitchen and various other fittings for bedrooms and living room with John and Enzo. We have had to do this via phone/email/pictures as we have not been able to get out to visit our appartment yet ... but the great thing is that everything will be installed by the time we visit in August... John and Enzo - have been brilliant and have been providing us with pictures/costings/ideas/updates on progress etc. (which is quite reassuring given the tortuous process we went through during the 3 and a half years from when we signed pre-lim agreement to final completion  ) They have been an absolute godsend sorting things in our absence.

If anyone needs help with decent quality kitchens, bedrooms, beds etc - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend John - he's Mr Sort-it.

PS - Bob - sorry I just realised I never responded to your posts in relation to my original posting - but I do believe we might be your next door neighbours (C2.1) - so thanks for cleaning the stairwell  (our turn to do it in August!).

Chrissie
