Er, have our posts always been adjusted to 'central' or have I only just noticed it?

Mrs Teapot,
I only noticed this earlier this week and coincided when the "Active Topics" format changed.
Text was not "centred" before and is not centered when you type your posts. It only changes after you have submited your posting!!
Editing after 1st submission
Whoops it didn't centre this time as it did with my other postings this week

Hi all,

the software used for this forum got just upgraded to the latest version. Unfortunately an old bug in the style slipped back in which would center the text in Windows internet explorer. As nobody in our office uses Windows it went unnoticed until now!

I have told the webmaster off for not testing against the more obscure computing platforms.

Best wishes,

Dennis.

Hi Dennis,
You have answered the question on the centering of text which is now sorted to left justified as it was previously. Last weekend I had posted on the Forum the change I noticed regarding "Active Topics" . I can only assume the software upgrade also caused the changes to the "Active Topics"?
The Forum is not as user friendly as it was when all new topics and replies could be seen in one place under the heading of "Active Topics", it also appears that after this upgrade some postings are not found under their appropriate headings.
Is it possible to change things back as they were before the upgrade, or at least to have "Active Topics" back as it was? At the end of the day an upgrade is only worthwhile when it improves the service. I do not think that this upgrade has done this.

Hi Davidnam,

Have you tried using "view new posts"? I find this more useful than the "active posts" as it shows me in one go, all the posts that have been made since I last signed on - that way you don't miss anything, and you don't have to trawl through to see which posts you have already read.

Hi dgrcgl29.
I have used "view new posts" but you do lose the historical posts when you log off.
Active Topics used to do it for me before as you could see in chronological order the historical posts, posts you previously read as well as all the new ones with their replies.
It appears the "view unread posts" does what active posts did before. Only small snag is that you have to log on to view "unread, new & your posts".
Don't understand why it's called "unread posts" as they have been read!!

Is it not possible for the mods here to remove offensive posts instead of locking an entire thread?
