Was wondering if there is a chance of a direct flight in the near future - say from july onwards...or is it completely out of the question for Summer 2010??

Since summer schedules have started some time ago I would not hold my breath for this summer but hopefully the winter or summer 2011 will bring better news.

Dennis.

We did this route in May from LHR. We had about a 3 hour wait going out, but the return Journey was Just over an hour.

Someone from Alitalia were waiting for us to arrive, then frog marched us to the departing plane.

We were lucky we did not have any delays but we would use this route again.

Hope it all goes well for you and that you have an enjoyable break :D

Leave Lamezia 16.40 on AZ 1174

We are leaving in the afternoon, about 4 I think (memo check flight times) and arrive in Lamezia 11.30ish via Roma, trouble with your early morning flight is getting to Heathrow from the Welsh borders, no car to leave in car park, paying for a hotel room rather defeats the object of a cheap flight? I also do not do early mornings, 7 is definately early enough for me.

Hi
Have used Alitalia for over a year now. Just one hitch if you take hold baggage and want to find it on the rotunda on arrival leave plenty of time between flights. Learn't that through baggage can no longer be transfered direct between aircraft it has to go into the terminal and be screened again. However if you do get seperated you can get a form filled in and it will be couriered direct to your home either the next day or the day after depending on flight timings.
Other things are you, including seat allocation, and your baggage is booked right through to your final destination. If you get delayed Alitalia transfere you to the next flight at no extra charge.
Should you need help due to infirmaty or illness they will fall over backwards to help you.
We have been very satisfied and although we have suffered delays they have normaly been outside Alitalia's control. ie delay at Heathrow due to A prolonged runway inspection which built up a long queue for take off.
Still we made connections and arrived only half hour behind schedule at Lamezia.
Hope this helps
Allen C
