The price to install a pool in Calabria is DOUBLE what it would cost in Spain.
OK the local people cannot understand why we want one when, as they say, there is the biggest pool on your doorstep ie the Ionian Sea.

Several firms in England will send all the materials over but we would still need to rely on friends and family to help build and that may go on forever.

So... anyone know of a reasonably priced company who can build a pool for us?

We have building permission for pool and it is my dream to have one, in my garden... I see myself being ultra fit!! Maybe not but ... all advice much appreciated.

You could try CJ Swimming Pools based in Prestatyn North Wales.
01745 852093

A neighbouring apartment has one of those inflatable ones........it looks really good quality.

You'll have to have a pool party when you get it sorted!

We had a big inflatable in the uk. And now have a small one for our roof terrace. A economical solution

Pools are indeed expensive in Italy and the main reasons for this are the limited demand and therefore limited competition and the extensive technical requirements to comply with law.

The way around both is buy a prefab pool that does not require digging in, but then use a bit of natural slope to effectively dig it in a little bit so that one border is at ground level. If the land lends itself to that, elegant and good looking solutions are possible within a limited budget.

Hope this helps,

Dennis.
