We have just returned from Calabria and have had another useful meeting with Ambrogio and his English speaking colleague. He has two showrooms one in Albi and the other in Villaggio Mancuso. Although he is more than happy to meet up at a mutual place with his brochures and samples.
He does kitchens and bedrooms furniture, he will measure install and deliver.
We enjoyed a very nice lunch with them, nothing is too much trouble.

Hi Lorica,
Thank you, we're on the East Coast, at Caulonia and we will contact them when the completion time comes around.

Hi All,

Totally agree with everyone on here. Amrbogio is a great guy and does provide an excellent service. I highly recommend him. He even had to winch some of the furniture up to our 2nd floor balcony. Very Happy with it all.

Cheers,

Dave

We recently completed in Amusa Mare (thanks to Jolanda) and as we were approaching completion we travelled around looking at furniture taking in some of the recommendations from this site. We visited Turco and met Vincezo who understood exactly what was required in our 2 bed apartment. He speaks very good English and we have to say that the standard of furniture was of a high quality. We used them for our furniture and kitchen and we have just received photos of the fitting and delivery and we are very impressed. Vincenzo is very good at communication, keeping us in touch by phone and email throughout the process.
We used Antonio Peronache for the air con and other items and he too seems to have done an excellent job.
We would also like to recommend Antonella who is doing a very good job of managing our apartment and we look forward to many years spending time in beautiful Calabria.

Hi Martin & Nicola,

Thanks for sharing that information with us . Can you tell me where is Turco and how far is it from Caulonia ? and where is Antonio Peronache for air conditioning? We have bought at Amusa Residential and look forward to exploring the area for the furnishings next year.

thanks

Berni

We used Turco as well - brilliant.

Vincenzo pretty much runs the place and developed the UK customer market. The shop is at Amantea - on the main road, can't miss it.

Across the road is Turco Expert. Expert is a co-operative group but with individual ownership (sells stock like our Currys etc), and the one in Amantea is also part of the Turco family. We bought our boiler, air con and washing machine there, and Vincenzo's brother brought them in the van along with our kitchen, bedroom furniture etc. They are all most helpful. (Endrio at Turco Expert rang a local installer for our air-con and acted as interpreter to fix us up. We bought their Sekom units which were really good value, and paid 150e each to the local fitter - we are north near Scalea.)

Some people may feel prices are high - but when I compare the kitchen we chose with the one our son bought from B&Q in the UK for £5k and had to fit himself.... No contest! You can buy at both ends of the price range, and even with the poor euro, I felt we had a better deal than B&Q at home!

We have just ordered our next set of furniture (to do the second bedroom etc) for delivery next time we are down. We will definitely keep going back.

Hi Berni
Turco are approx 3-40 mins drive north of Lamezia airport - their website is
http://www.turcolarredamento.it/ but I have to say you need to go there to see their full range as they have a lot of choice, design etc. As dmbt54 wrote they are very good - worth the trip.
Antonio has a shop in Caulonia and his wife speaks English and they are both extremely helpful. We ordered our air con, washing machine, shower screen and other items from him and he has fitted them all. If you need more info let me know.
Nicky
