I suspect that the planning permissions are in place as the local councils are now becoming very aware of and stopping illegal building. The vendor purchaser and the notary should all independently have checked the permissions.
I would only worry if the army come along one day (they blow illegal places up for practice)

Hi everybody
I have just found this sight and I wish I had found it earlier. I was one of the unfortunate people who bought at Santa Venere. I changed my lawyer from Martinez Echevarria to an Italian lawyer based in London last September so I have been out of the loop as far as other buyers since then. I mustsay that my new lawyer found out more info for me than my previous one.
I have been offered another property by the developer, who has also offered to pay for my trip if I confirm the deal there and then.
I have been offered an apartment in Fioribello and Collina Marina.
I have no idea about either of these developments other than the very thin information sent me by the developer's lawyer. Could anyone give me any information about this. Have you been offered another property and accepted?
Also I wish to sell any property I get immediately as my Italian dream has become a nightmare. Can anyone give me information about the resale market in Calabria
Hoping to hear
Maggie

do a search on the forum under those developments and see what comes up and also getting your deposit back, I recommend (as always) a glass of wine whilst reading.

the resale market not sure about that recession etc.

Hi Mike and Linda,

Welcome to the forum. We have also bought at Res Amusa. There is a Google Group set up for Amusa Residents and we have about 60 members. It is great for sharing of information especially coming near completion. You should PM "Lorica" who will send you details on how to join the group. If you do a search for her name , send her a PM.

Regards,

Berni

Hi Mike and Linda
We are also just across the Forth in Bonnybridge. We often come to The Red Lion in Culross for a meal! We have also bought in Res. Amusa and completed when we were across in July. We are delighted with our appartment. They were working vey hard in high temperatures so I don`t think you will have to wait much longer.

Hi Jean and Andy

Thanks very much for letting us know that there is light at the end of the tunnel!! I've been trying to send you a pm with my phone number for the next time you're at The Red Lion in Culross. We could maybe meet for a drink if you wouldn't mind us picking at your knowledge pot. For some reason my messages are being stored in my inbox and are not actually being sent??? I'll keep trying.

Hi there. We have finally completed on our apartment in Bergamotto. It has taken a long time but we are very pleased with the end result. We have met a few of our neighbours and hope to meet many more over the next few years. When we aren't using the apartment, we do hope to let it out. If anyone wants to be on site when viewing or completing on their property, please get in touch on this e-mail or rich1sarah@hotmail.com.
We hope to meet more of you soon.

Richard and Sarah

My name is Laura Keene and my husband and I have bought a 2 bed apartment at the now infamous Jewel of the Sea complex. We already had an old medieval house in the village of Fossa, Abruzzo but it was damaged by the earthquake. We are concerned by what we are reading about Giambrone Law and now have been contacted by Edwin Coe in the UK.

Ciao a tutti. We have bought on the East Coast near Crotone, in a small village, close to extended family. We currently have the builders in sorting the place out and are looking forward to spending time out there later this year.

Hi,

My name is Karl and my mam (Tricia) and her brother (Jimmy) we bought 1 apartment each in San Rocco II. 2 in block 5 and 1 in block 3.

We've just finished completion of all of them. A complete nightmare. Giambrone Law (don't trust them), Bella Calabria (be very careful) they helped when we were over there last week but there is lots of snagging to do. Hopefully it won't be too much of a fight to get it all done. One bit of advice for anyone still going to complete. GO YOURSELF. You need to be there and see all or any problems there are and sort them before completing. We got the builder and Bella Calabria to sign a document lsiting all the problems that needed to be fixed in the notary office. Now we have that to hold them by.

ANyway that is just a few issues. I could type a couple of pages on our issues. Bottomline is be very careful and be there yourself.

Hello everyone,

I am also new on this forum!

We just completed on our property in Pizzo Beach Club and I am very happy to be the proud owner of this new apartment in Calabria.

We are also buying a small 2 bed in Jewel of the Sea but this seems to be a long way off for now!

Anyway, if anyone else from the Leeds area would like to meet up for a social drink or share experiences about Calabria, get in touch!

Hi all

My name is Bhav and although I've been looking through this site and even posted a few things I don't think I ever actually introduced myself!

As I said my name is Bhav (Bhawna - I'm Indian but have lived just outside London for over 35 years!). I've bought was will now be a 2 bed apartment in Zambrone - Sunset Tropea phase II, which will hopefully be complete at the end of April (only about a year and half late :-) but at least the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer!).

I have to say that site has been an invaluable source of information and I'm not sure what I'd do without. So thank you.
Now that my apartment is getting close to being mine, I'm sure I'll be posting a few question looking for help, any advice/tips anyone has would be gratefully received.

If there is anyone else out there who has bought in the same complex I'd love to hear from you. I'm hoping to be out there at the end of June and it would be great to know a few faces out there.

Thanks & Regards
Bhav.

Hi,
My name is June and my husband Eddie and I are purchasing property at Terrazza Di Pizzo and we thought we would introduce ourselves to any other purchasers on this complex. We live in Scotland and at present it is quite an expedition to get to Lamezia.
We complete paperwork hopefully in June.

Hi June and Eddie
We also have brought at Le Terrazza, number 46p. We signed our preliminary contract October 2009 ( we have had a long wait).
We are too hoping to sign our final papers in June (although our original date was December).
Booked flights to go out there in August. If everything goes to plan looking froward to a glorious 3 weeks out there .
We have 2 children 8 and 10 , so looking to use it during the school holidays and renting out at other times.
Nice to find somebody else from britain who has brought there.
You will have a trek currently from Scotland, hopefully if the Stansted flights are successful Ryanair will include some flights from the north of England or Scotland soon.
I have to say now we are lucky as the flights have been reinstated form Stansted we are only 80 minutes away, although last year to look at the property we had to fly to naples and drive 6 hours with two children( thank goodness for handheld devises)

Anyway welcome to the forum

Shelley and Steve

Hello one and All. I am re-introducing myself really. I have been away for a long time, busy setting up my rental home in Calabria (since 2008). Lost touch for a while but, hopefully, come back with some more positive, useful contributions to the forum, drawn from my own experiences. The "news" portion of this forum is really invaluable. Thanks again!
